Too often designers think that just because the view out the window is gloomy, we should also be wearing clothes in a muted palate. Remember last winter? When the stores were full of everything you wanted, just as long as you wanted it in black, grey or navy blue?

Thankfully this autumn it’s a little different. There are some amazing colours available, especially in knitwear, where autumnal shades come in interesting weaves. I got this jumper in Cos, and the waffle knit not only looks great but is also incredibly warm. What I like best though is that it’s a brilliant shade of yellow. Which, come to think of it, goes very well with black, grey and navy blue.
