Something I heard a lot during Fashion Week: “Well, it’s Berlin.” Meaning: it’s not Paris, London or Milan. Which may be true. But it makes me wonder, why Berlin can’t just be itself. Especially when meeting someone like the designer Nait Rosenfelder and her partner Roey Vollmann, who moved here from Tel Aviv to establish their own label Eva & Bernard two years ago – BECAUSE it’s Berlin and the possibilities here are greater than elsewhere in the fashion business.
They had their first presentation during Fashion Week, where they showed the current campaign video (my picture above) and selected pieces from next season: cleverly draped clothes with soft silhouettes, which looked elegant even in heavy fabrics like wool and velvet – and as unfussy and grown-up as fashion from Berlin supposedly never looks like.
All of which is why I’m really happy that we can give you a preview from their lookbook for Autumn/Winter.
