*It’s always a good day when the new issue of British Elle arrives in the mail and I spent much of a lazy afternoon this week browsing all 430 pages of it. You always know it’s September when the fashion mags almost break your back trying to carry them from the mailbox to the couch. And when you can’t wait for next Spring, because the shows have kicked off in New York. These are some of the things that I liked and that inspired me this week:
*The crispness and the tailoring of the Tibi collection.
*As well as the tailored pieces in the J. Crew presentation, although I’ve mostly got my eyes on this shirt.
*Pretty much anything from 3.1 Philip Lim, but mainly everything in the sorbet colours.
*I might never wear a flower print in my life, but what Prabal Gurung showed was just insanely beautiful. So were the flower prints from Altuzarra.
*This amazing dress from Derek Lam. Also: the sunglasses in the collection.
*The very cool girls at Theyskens’ Theory.
*The streetstyles photographed for Italian Grazia by Nam.
*And for next week I’m looking forward to catching some of the London shows on the Topshop live streams, especially Mary Katrantzou (Tuesday, 9 a.m. If there is one advantage to watching the shows in front of your computer, it’s that no-one will judge you if you turn up in your pyjamas. Having said that, in London probably no-one would judge, if you turned up in the actual front row in your pyjamas…)
Have a great week!
