a week in fashion #23

*I just spent the afternoon taking pictures of my lovely friend Okka’s closet (check back for the pics tomorrow…) and I showed her this snapshot I had taken earlier in the day at a flea market, which got us talking about how Jean Seberg is to thank for much of our wardrobes and to blame for having our hair cut very, very short. Having the Seberg haircut – it’s kind of a rite of passage for women.

*It’s been said before, but it bears repeating that Olivier Theyskens’ designs for Theory are stunning. Proof: The resort collection, especially these two looks.

*I’m a sucker for mascara and I have ten half-empty tubs to prove it, so I can’t wait for Benefit’s brilliantly named They’re Real mascara to come out and make it eleven.

*Loving orange at the moment and this shopping feature from Russh is great inspiration.

*Debbie Reynolds auctioned off her mind-blowing collection of Hollywood memorabilia yesterday. I wish I could have been there just to SEE Elizabeth Taylor’s jockey outfit from “National Velvet”.

*Speaking of Elizabeth Taylor: It’s been online for a while, but have you seen this pictorial from her stay at a fat farm she referred to as “Butterfield Ate”? You must!

*The Ellen von Unwerth exhibition “The Big Show” at Contributed in Berlin has been extended until July 2nd. Must check it out, must check it out, must check it out…

Hope you had a great weekend!
