a week in fashion #35

*Mustard: very good on a sandwich. Also, perhaps surprisingly, very good as a colour for a jumper. I bought it this week in anticipation of colder autumn weather. Here are some other things I’ve been up to…

*Wondering when I would ever find myself in a situation where I would buy a rabbit fur jacket from a vending machine.

*Thinking about stealing some of James’ skinny ties for a little arts and crafts project after seeing these Hermès ties turned into belts.

*Being utterly charmed by this commercial for Chanel nail polishes, the Shade Parade. It’s dancing fingers! Coco’s miniature apartment! And pearls!

*Realizing that I sound exactly like Doc Brown (and, devastatingly, also have the same facial expression) when I’m shopping: “Shoes! I need shoes!”

*Enjoying the best of the Guardian‘s fashion statement before it goes on hiatus, especially the collection of Karl Lagerfeld’s gems such as this one: “What would you save if your house was burning down? ‘What house? I have several,’ he laughs. ‘I don’t really care for possessions.'”

*Getting excited about the start of a month of fashion shows, and looking forward especially to what Cathy Horyn will have to say about it all and what HB Nam will have to show from it all.

*Thinking about the greatest city of them all, New York – now and forever.

Have a good week!
