Who’s that girl?
Sometime last year, Instagram suggested Maja Wyh in the „pictures you might also like“. Like it I did. And so did a few other people. She has around 80,000 followers now, which isn’t even that many on Instagram anymore. I still think it’s a surprising number because she’s from Düsseldorf. And before anyone clutches their pearls and faints: No, I don’t think Düsseldorf und style are mutually exclusive. I just notice that personal style bloggers from Germany rarely get as much attention as Maja does. Everyone always looks to Denmarkenglandaustraliafranceetc. for fashionable references. So do I. But there are also interesting and cool women from these parts whose style I’d like to see more of. I certainly met and saw a few of them at the recent Berlin fashion week. I caught Maja after the Kaviar Gauche show. Her style isn’t mine. But it’s always surprising and I enjoy following her looks: the mix of highly glamouros and deeply relaxed, of oversized tees with a proper lady’s handbag, chiffon dresses over boyfriend jeans, casual layers, but with an extreme heel. Maja’s in New York right now. So perhaps we’ll be seeing her, and hopefully some of the other home girls, in the streetstyle shots from there…
