I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for summer.
I already started dropping hints to James that I might like some sunglasses from Ace & Tate for Christmas around early December when their Berlin pop-up shop opened. Hints like: „Do have have any ideas what to get me for Christmas yet? Because I do!“
We didn’t make it to the store until the day we were driving to my parents’ house for the holidays. And it’s a credit to James’s saintly patience that he let me get in the car with him after this particular shopping trip at all. I could NOT make up my mind.
„I think I like the Dustin frames best.“
„Me too.“
„But shall I get them in black or cream?“
„They both suit you.“
„The cream is softer on my face, but the black is more classic.“
„Uh-huh.“
„So I’ll go with the cream.“
„Mhm, mhm.“
„No, black.“
„Hrrrnnnnnnnn.“
„Although the cream frame is much more suited to wearing sunglasses in winter when I’m pale. The black might be too harsh. Or is it? Let me try them one more time. Honey? Where are you going…?“
As you can see, I decided on the black frames. And I love them. They’re my first pair of prescription sunglasses, which should feel even more like the revelation it is come summer (no more dried out contact lenses on the beach ever again). In fact, I like them so much, I might buy myself another pair. In cream.
The Ace & Tate sunglasses and glasses have a fixed price of 98 Euro, of which a portion is donated to the charity Sightsavers. Their pop-up shop is open until the end of January. Torstraße 66, Mo – Sa 12.00-20.00
