I don’t have a lot of time for shopping at the moment. I don’t have a lot of time for writing at the moment either. But it won’t take long to praise one of my favourite new shops in Berlin, Prag Store. The concept is as simple as it is convincing: the shop carries many of the labels that the Prag PR Agency represents, hence the name, and luckily I like pretty much all of them – such as Lala Berlin, Kaviar Gauche, Rika, Ina Beissner jewelry, Ace & Tate sunnies or Lika Mimika shoes. I spent a blissful half hour there recently, chatting to Melanie, one of Prag’s founders, and browsing the rails. Their SALE is still on at the moment, so that’s another good reason to visit. Typically, I picked out one of the few items not in the sale, a crisp white shirt from Rika. I’ve been living in it ever since. When you don’t have a lot of time to shop, you should make it count. Right?

Bei mir wars genau umgekehrt: nie habe ich so viel geshopped wie im ersten Lebensjahr meiner Tochter. Damals lebten wir in der Stadt (HH-Eppendorf), und statt von 9-19uhr im Büro zu sitzen, hatte ich plötzlich den Tag und endlos Zeit vor mir und das ganze Viertel wurde gefühlt zur Shoppingmall. Kaum ein Tag, an dem ich ohne Tüte am Lenker den Wagen heimwärts schob… ich werd ganz nostalgisch bei dem Gedanken. Seufz. (und JA: Meine Tochter hat damals pro Tag etwa 4 Stunden Frischluft bekommen, auf einem der etwa 5 Spielplätze oder im Park).
Jetzt ist das zweite Kind da, ich wieder in Elternzeit, und wir leben in Suburbia. Hier kann ich einkaufen, aber nicht shoppen, if you know what I mean. Darum beneide ich dich. Spieli I und II, Wäldchen, Coffeeshop und Eisdiele sind schön und gut, aber mein Sohn sollte zur Sozialisation auch mal ein paar amtliche Boutiquen zu Gesicht bekommen. Vielleicht sollten wir nächstes WE mal gen Berlin düsen. Ist dieser PRAG-Store immer da? Sounds like my flavor.
