It’s not New Year’s Eve. But it kind of feels like that around here today, because Spruced has spruced itself up a little more.
little black summer dress
27 degrees and sunny – that’s the weather forecast for Berlin today. This is the little black summer dress that’s perfect for just such a day. Light, breezy, really just a big shirt, but spruced up – ha! – with an oversized clutch and some cool kicks. Cheers for the inspiration, Sophia.
Have a lovely day!
in the front row with stella mccartney
After hosting a panel discussion with Marc Jacobs last year I thought: it’s impossible to be more nervous about something. I just wouldn’t survive it.
I was wrong.
The request came in May. It had gone so well with Marc, could I imagine hosting the talk again this year – with Stella McCartney.
I imagined it for a moment: there’s me, sitting in front of fifty people, some of them colleagues, Stella McCartney enters, sits down by my side. I raise the microphone for my first question and out comes… nothing! Blackout! I have forgotten how to speak English! Waaaaahhhhhhhh!
bermuda, bahama, come on pretty mama…
When I opened my wardrobe this morning, this is the outfit I wanted to find in it.
Sure, almost everything I have is either black, white or grey anyway. What I don’t have is a pair of bermuda shorts. They’re what make Julia’s outfit for me. Imagine it with a skirt for a second. It would still work. It just wouldn’t be as good. In fact, I’m starting to think that bermudas are possibly the better skirt (shorts are the new skirts! – this is what I talk like after fashion week). They need to be cut wide though. And be paired with heels, unless you’re tall, which I’m not. Pretty much exactly like this look and this look from the altogether phenomenal Chloé Resort collection. And, of course, like Julia is wearing them here. She found her bermudas at Weekday, so maybe that’s where I’m headed this weekend…
Oh, and forgive me for the post’s title. But it’s Friday. Time for some Beach Boys (the outfits! the outfits!)
Have a good weekend.
fashion week inspiration: white pumps
File this under luxury problems, but when you see something on the runway you really like, it’s a pain to have to wait for months and months until the piece finally gets to the shops (you can also file this under: impatience!). So it’s nice when you get a chance to try it on. My friend Julia took a spin in a pair of white pumps from the new collection at the Hugo Boss showroom last week. I think she needs to get them.
Completely unrelated, but I love that Julia has a pretzel tattooed on her ankle. You can get the girl out of Bavaria, but you can’t get Bavaria out of the girl.
