Monday – time for the new style column. Every week, my friend Okka asks me a style question which I then try to answer in a way that makes me look like I know what I’m talking about. So far, we’ve covered t-shirts and parkas. Okka and I are having a lot of fun with this. And hopefully so are you. Now, to the question…

Okka: I’m packing for my summer holiday right now, so I’m curious: which beauty products do you take with you when you’re travelling? Tell me!

I’m not gonna get into what I take when I’m travelling with hand luggage only (100ml containers in plastic bags might make sense from a security standpoint, but are, of course, ridiculous and mainly contain the humiliation of discussing beauty products with security personnel. “What do you mean ‘Throw it away’? It’s Kiehl’s!”). But here’s what I always bring with me in the big suitcase:

Aveda Sun Care Hair and Body Cleanser – As you might’ve guessed from the name, it’s shampoo and shower gel in one and smells like an evening after a day on the beach.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse – This one’s 3 in 1: Oil for face, body and hair. I could douse myself in this every day.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15 – A favourite moisturizer. In a 75ml size bottle. Ha!

Balenciaga Paris – My fragrance in a travel size vaporiser. Goes everyhwere with me, even if I’m only taking hand luggage.

Lucas’ Papas Ointment – As does this Australian magic potion that works as a lipbalm, heals rashes and soothes sunburn. Unfortunately, I haven’t found it anywhere in Germany, yet.

Klorane gentle dry shampoo with oat milk – Spray into hair, wait two minutes, comb through with fingers, styling done. Because you’ve got better things to do on holiday than think about hairdos.

MAC lipstick in So Chaud – A phenomenal orangey red. Don’t need much more than that. Because you’ve got better things to do on holiday than spending a lot of time on make-up.

Giorgio Armani Face Fabric – Alright, so maybe you’ll spend a little time on make-up. Face Fabric is so light that it almost feels like you’re not wearing any foundation at all (on an aside: the time I spend on looking like I’m not wearing any make-up would make for a nice number of vacation days). The Solo 02 eyeshadow from Dr. Hauschka is very subtle, too. Hoola bronzing powder from Benefit gives your face a touch of sun without actual sunbathing. A few drops of Benetint on cheeks and lips for daytime – couldn’t be less complicated to apply, gives a very pretty result. Lash Power Mascara from Clinique lasts and lasts and lasts.

Happy travels!

P.S. What I’m still looking for is a good-looking make-up bag. I’ve found these from Alphabet Bags. What do you use? Any suggestions? And which beauty products do you take along on holiday?
