Do you have all of your Christmas presents yet?
I hope not. Because I did the shopping for you this year. It was easy, because I only picked things that I’d like to find underneath the tree myself. Then I called some Christmas elves who very generously helped get everything that I wanted. And now you can win the lot.
So even if you’ve already bought all of your presents, this one’s for you. A thank you for spending another year together on this blog, a big ol’ cheers for coming back here, even when I stopped blogging for four months, for hanging out and being kind and supportive and just cool. Thank you.
You can find the instructions of how to win at the end of the post. But first – the goods!
One winner, seven presents, here they are…
#1 T-shirt from Son of a Tailor
I’m always looking for the perfect white t-shirt and I recently found out about Son of a Tailor, who had the brilliant idea of making custom cut t-shirts. All you have to do is send in your measurements and what you get in return is a personally fitted, organic cotton, white (or black, navy, or blue) t-shirt that even comes with your initials. Like I said, brilliant.
#2 Candle from Colors Japonica
The candles from Aoiro’s Colors Japonica are so beautifully made that you almost don’t want to light them. Almost. They’re composed of soy wax and rare natural ingredients, which are hand-mixed in Aoiro’s Berlin atelier. The „Kohaku Iro“ combines Katafray bark, turmeric, yasmin, nutmeg, mandarine and thyme, which smells as delicious as that list of ingredients suggests. I especially love that I can give away one of the candles because Aoiro celebrates the Japanese culture of gifting and the packaging – the Paulowia wooden box, the washi paper used for wrapping and labels, the delicate porcelain candle cup – is just gorgeous.
#3 Clutch from Horizn Studios
The nappa leather clutch from Horizn Studios would be a smart-looking travel companion just by itself, but it’s even smarter, as it comes with Horizn’s unique Travel Assistent, a service that runs over WhatsApp and helps with flight and hotel bookings, as well as check-ins, and recommends places to go wherever you’re visiting. It’s free for one month as part of this gift.
#4 Frauen und Kleider
Meeting Leanne Shapton, one of the authors of Women in Clothes, was one of my highlights of the past year. Together with Heidi Julavits and Sheila Heti she has written a book about fashion that is smart, funny, wise, entertaining and joyful, and about so much more than fashion. The copy I’m giving away is in German.
#5 Lipstick and nail polish from Uslu
What happens when eleven guys get together to come up with the perfect lipstick colour? They actually come up with the perfect lipstick colour, a soft coral red that never doesn’t look good. I love wearing TOR from Uslu Airlines and I love giving it as a present, because, as my friend Marie says, it’s the only lipstick she’s ever finished. Bonus: the MAD nail polish, because who doesn’t enjoy a bit of sparkle at Christmas.
#6 Skincare from Luxsit
The „Hydrating Serum“ from organic Swedish brand Luxsit was my favourite beauty buy of 2014. And any other year. Nothing’s made my skin look as healthy and glowing, even during times of very little sleep, a lot of stress and of age creeping into the corners of my eyes. This serum is my I-might-not-feel-it-but-I-damn-well-look-good medicine. Comes with „Hydrating Facial Mist“ and „Rejuvenating Facial Cream“.
#7 Hamam towels from WHFS
Some day I’d like to live in a house filled with the kelims, kelim pillows, suzani throws and hamam towels that Beyza and Lena from Wild Heart Free Soul bring back from their travels to Anatolia. Two of the gorgeously soft hamam towels in grey with distinct patterns are part of the present.
If you’re in Berlin, you really should visit their pop-up store before Christmas. Open on Thursday, December 17 from 11:00-17:00, and Saturday, December 19 from 12:00-17:00 (Elisabethkirchstraße 13)
It’s easy. Tell me in the comment section what you’re most looking forward to this Christmas. All entries must be made before midnight of December 20 when I will randomly pick a winner. Don’t worry if your comment doesn’t appear immediately, I have to approve it first. Double entires don’t count. Please fill in your email address so that I can contact you and send the present before Christmas. CLOSED The winner is Evalie, comment posted 16. December 2015 at 22:54. Congratulations!
To all of you who didn’t win: Thank you for taking part. But more importantly, thank you for all of your sweet, funny, charming and thoughful comments. Thank you for sharing stories about spending your first Christmas with nieces and nephews, about playing Chinese checkers with your grandma, about the Southern baked turkey your mom prepares. Reading through them made me look forward to Christmas THAT much more.
Wishing you joyful, relaxed and fabulous holidays. You guys are a delight!
